Synopsis of Public Wolf Howl #101

Date of Public Wolf Howl: Thursday, August 14, 2008
Location: 1 kilometre east of East Gate
Result: Unsuccessful
Total number of vehicles: 394
Estimated number of people in attendance: 1,576
Number of staff working: 20

How the pack was found:
This pack was found by the naturalist staff on Tuesday, August 12 and heard again on August 13.

What happened at the howl?
Once again, the weather did not cooperate! At 7:00 p.m. we had a torrential downpour and this likely kept some visitors away. Although the weather cleared by the time we were set to howl, we were unsuccessful.

Comments:
Although the howl was determined to be unsuccessful, several staff and some visitors at the west end of the line (nearest the East Gate buildings) may have heard a lone wolf somewhere behind the Ministry of Transportation facility.
