Enjoy your visit to Algonquin from the comfort of a yurt, an eight-sided, 16-foot diameter, tent-like structure installed
on a wooden deck floor.
There are eight yurts for rent in
Algonquin Park — seven are located at the Mew Lake Campground
along the Highway 60 Corridor (at km 30.6) and one is found at Achray Campground on Algonquin's east side.
The most attractive
features of the yurts located at Mew Lake are electric heat and
an insulated floor which make for comfortable camping during the
spring, fall, and winter seasons.
The yurt at Achray Campground offers limited conveniences. It is available only from late April to late October, and is located a short walk down a hill from the vehicle parking area.
All yurts accommodate up to six
people (two sets of bunks; double bed on bottom bunk, single bed on top bunk; each bunk has a vinyl-cover futon mattress).
